In 2010 Wilcox High Velocity Ltd added the latest and greatest piece of thermal spray equipment to our facility making us the first in Canada to install and operate this system.
The JP8000 is the next generation of the JP5000, which up to that point was the leader of the pack when it came to coating capabilities and reliablility in service. The closed loop characteristics of the JP8000 basically catapulted an already great system up to a new level.
Once the JP8000 coatings had time to be field tested, the demand for it grew very quickly! So much so, we are now currently getting prepared to add yet another system to back it up!
With the JP8000, we are able to closely monitor how each coating is being applied. We are able to view what the system is doing from the inside out. By having this ability, optimum burn rates can be set to ensure a repeatable application each and every time, while also atomizing the product at its perfect melting point. This in turn ensures that less than 1% porosity is attainable each and every time.
In conjunction with the JP8000 consoles stand alone capabilities, there is a Data Acquisition option that can offer our customers “real time” accountability. While the coatings are being applied the JP8000 is recording how the system is being operated at the time of application. At the end of each project the JP8000 will print out a document showing that which has been recorded. This document can be supplied to the customer with each project lot, giving the customer the comfort of knowing that in fact, they actually received a JP8000 coating and they can see exactly how it was being applied!
Our ultimate goal is to restore faith with the Thermal Spray process amongst our customer base by showing that there are far better options than Hardchrome!
